Surface Water Drop by grid

Surface Water Drop by grid

Can you use the same programming code that you use the layout points on a grid to layout water drop points by grid?

I would like to be able to select a rectangular area and have it place water drops by X & Y intervals (20' x 20' grid)

It gets very tedious to have to select every single point to analyze the water drop path. water drop.JPG

 Thank You

I don't think you can.

A grid surface has cells, each cell is like 2 triangles (2 plans). In fact, a cell has 4 elevations in the edges and the value of the cell is the average.

So, TIN surface through triangles (each triangle is a plan) is the unique way.

I was just trying to use that as an example that might speed up the use of the water drop the routine.  It has you pick points which is just returning a coordinate value to start the water drop. I would think it would be easy from a programming level to select a window and place water drop locations within the limits of the window based on a X-Y spacing.

We need to be able to select a point on the surface and the routine finds the discharge point from there and creates the encompassing tributary Catchment for the discharge point...all in one click.
