Selection Cycling

This one seems obvious. Selection Cycling needs to show the actual name of the objects for AEC objects and not the object type. I'm zooming in an area and want to grab point number 4C322 and I have to labels turned on to determine if I'm selecting the correct object or click on it and then see if it is correct. Having the names would make the selection cycling half way decent to use.

Sometimes, yes, sometimes no. It would be good to have the option to have it either way.

I was told this was an autocad function, that's why the civil 3d objects don't show. I love trying to get the right intersection alignment when there is overlapping and getting a list of 3 alignment. My list could look like below which offers little help.

Last time I checked AutoCAD and Civil 3D are both Autodesk products. That means that the Civil 3D group should be able to ask the AutoCAD developers for the source code. The Civil 3D team could them take the code and modify the results of the dialog box to give us the names of the objects instead of the Class names. 

The AutoCAD API even has events where the Civil 3D could take over from the AutoCAD command: http://through-the-interface.typepad.com/through_the_interface/2009/05/enabling-autocads-offset-to-w...

In this case they could choose to implement this wish quite easily. 

All I know is a teach a lot of new students, including how to use this tool. In nearly every class a student will ask why they can't see the names of the alignments, point, profile, etc.

Agreed. The was one of my first service tickets when I started using civil 3d. It just didn't make sense to me I couldn't see the alignment or surface name.

If you look in the properties pallet when you hover over the various names of your potential object selections you will notice all kinds of identifying features.

Also, the object is highlighted in the drawing space which may help identify which is which.

None of this changes the fact that this is a good idea and certainly gets my vote.

Where is the selection cycling tool in Civil 3D 2026? I will appreciate if you send a picture
