Remove the 255-character string length limit for XData

Remove the 255-character string length limit for XData, if it does not actually exist and this is an atavism from very old versions [1992].
If so, remove this restriction from the documentation, as well as from the actions of AUDIT, RECOVER commands, etc.

I'm not saying, I can't say there are no actual 255-character limits.

I can only write "if."
But if they really are not there for a long time, then very useful AUDIT, RECOVER do not allow to write more data, make it difficult to work.

Removing it would likely cause problems in attempts to save back to old .DWG formats.  Besides, most people understand there are limits (don't forget the 16k overall limit) and if long strings are needed they chop them up into multiple 255 character chunks.

Yes, for older versions, can prepare data taking into account the length limit.
... And not even 1992. October 1990 - R11.
Moreover, Autodesk is now no longer supporting everything older than 2017.

... 255-bytes.

The same question is about limiting the length of XData Applications names.

Is there a limit from the documentation of 31 bytes really, is it really relevant?
Neither AUDIT nor RECOVER responds to Applications names longer than 31 bytes.
