MicroDrainage is currently the preferred modelling solution for many UK drainage engineers and Civil 3D already has import functionality that reads the MicroDrainage sws file. Civil 3D is used for drawing production and to create 3D objects for export into Navisworks. The issue with this functionality is that if the sws file is re-modelled and then re-imported, any changes previously made to the pipe network labels are forgotten, as on import the network is not updated but deleted and redrawn. A facility to import the Microdrainage mdx file and not sws would potentially resolve this.
