Enhance the Edit Elevations Panel - Specifically Create an 'Elevations by Reference Plane' Command

The current Edit Elevations commands don't quite hit the mark when compared to other grading software like Terramodel, which my firm still largely uses for grading, despite it being a dead, unsupported software.

 

I'd like you to create a command that analogs Terramodel's 'Edit Elevations by Reference Plane' command, which allows the user to select the destination vertices, then a reference vertex, then a direction, then a grade at which the plane slopes. This changes the elevation of each of the destination vertices to sit on the plane.

 

The currently available 'Adjacent Elevations by Reference' command only allows a direct line from the reference feature to all verticies and elevation points along only the most adjacent feature. This isn't very helpful for most circumstances in a parking lot, for example, where multiple points on any section of curb may need to change based on a plane (straight grade) from a high point to a low point.

 

Long story short: I want to be able to edit the elevations any vertex or multiple vertices on any number of feature lines, and choose any reference point (not just from the closest feature line), and run a plane along any direction and grade. Is that possible?

I am not familiar with Terramodel.

If it is a C3D competitor, maybe the C3D team understands.

I do not follow what you want. A sketch or video would help.

Here's a video of the Terramodel functionality for which I would hope to see a Civil 3D equivalent.

 

Watch the bottom left hand corner of the screen (my apologies if the UI is unfamiliar. Personally, it drives me nuts with the small point size). For instance, here I am selecting two 'records' (points currently at elevation 891.95 and 891.92) which I would like to set on a plane from a 'Ref pnt' (reference point) location and elevation

 

at a west 'Brg' (bearing) and down at 2 percent 'Vert ang' (slope). This changes the elevation of the points to sit on that plane, i.e. elevation 892.22. This is very useful for situations where we want a bunch of points straight graded.
