Corridor Surface Boundary by region

I find the inability to generate a corridor surface by region seems like a bizarre omission.  The option to "corridor region as outer boundary" would allow us to create surfaces that actually match our corridors, rather than having a vacuum mold surface that requires additional boundaries.

@m_kingdon thanks for submitting this idea. To refine this idea a bit, would you expect:

• Each region to have a separate boundary, or
• Multiple regions to share a single boundary?

@TimYarristhanks for following up.  I would expect each region to be able to generate its own boundary or be able to create its own surface. 

In essence, I just want the ability to make a surface look exactly like the corridor model without the need for extra boundary objects that are not dynamically linked to the corridor model.

If there was another baseline (e.g. alignment forming a junction at the gap) which was added to the corridor using an appropriate assembly (as well as connecting alignments and kerb returns) would these be included in the surface? I've found that corridors with multiple baselines can be a bit tricky to extract a boundary from and don't always give good results and I have to extract boundaries and join them together in a non dynamic way which wastes a lot of time if the corridor changes (which it inevitably does).

@neilyj666 Have you checked the behavior on Civil 3D 2024? It will be helpful if you can share a sample drawing.

I tried this in 2024.3 as well as 2023 and found that the triangulation spanned the corridor gap and the problem of spurious triangles being formed outside the corridor boundary in concave areas still persist.
