Currently, there is a problem with Civil 3D when it comes to inserting one drawing into another when both drawings have Cogo/Survey Points.
Problem 1: It takes forever to combine drawings, the program will lock up for 20-30 mins.
Problem 2: When you insert a drawing with Cogo Points which have been rotated, or have dragged labels you completely loss all of those rotations and dragged states.
Problem 3: If there is duplicates Cogo Point that also drastically slows down the insert problem, plus the duplicate point notification does not actually tell you which point number is duplicate, thus you don't know if you want to merge, overwrite or delete.
Therefore, we need a COGOMAN command that works just like the Layer States Manager "LMAN". The LMAN commands allows users to save "layer states" such as color, on/off, freeze/thaw, linetypes, thickness and plot styles. In the LMAN command you can also "name" and save these layer states, as well as import and export these saved "layer states" to an external *.las" files so they can be imported into other drawings.
COGOMAN should be able to save all of the Cogo Point settings such as Text Overrides, Dragged State Leader positions, Cogo Point (marker) rotation angle, Label position and Label rotation. Just like LMAN we should be able to save these Cogo States and export those settings.
As much as I would like this command, I would just prefer the ability to combine drawings WITHOUT resetting the Cogo Points back to default marker rotation, default label location..... Also I would prefer that you can combine drawings without the 20-30 min wait. There has been times it literally take 1+ hours when you have a drawing with 2000+ points.
