Zig Zag Contours

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi,

New to Forum!

I have modeled junction without "Junction command" by targeting Right Alignment and feature line generated from connecting road "Edge of travel way (ETW)" from left curb return. Any idea to why I am getting this zigzag, even I have tried to change the corridor frequency but doesn't work. Image of surface attached.

Thanks

In addition to what J.M. said, if you just had a few contour lines you wanted to correct, draw a smooth F.L. over the contour line then use it as a breakline.

Hello,

Case 1 if L1 is a Feature Line.

Add elevation point to increase TIN lines, this should generate better smooth countours.

Case 2 if L1 is part of a corridor model

Reduce frecuency at tangent.

Case 3

Add single elevation point to surface

Look Attahced image.

Regards,

Thanks for your suggestion.

Both Curb returns are alignments, targeting from Left one to Right side Curb and Feature line of connecting Road.

Feature line of the main road is derived from corridor so it has dynamic link. Therefore to add more elevation points, I have to break this Link. Contours which are targeting this feature line are quite smooth but which are targeting Right curb are distorted.
