Xref problem visual

Hello,

I would like to know if anyone has a solution to my xrefs visualization issue. 

There are large X or maybe a grid on my drawing when i attach it.

When i open the xref the grid or X's are gone. 

I've attached pictures to help illustrate the problem.

The second image you posted looks like it's the same as the first, only zoomed in. The grid is right there, with the E 401800 and the N 1261400. See it? That's the same grid you're seeing in the first image, but in the second image you're zoomed way in.

Ive attached a third picture showing the xlist information.

It says

Object:  polyline

Layer:  madeira survey base| grid

Color: by layer

Linetype: Continous
