Warning: Error occurred during save after making edits to feature lines

I am working in Civil 3D developing a site plan for a reservoir/ water tank. I inserted two feature lines from objects and set the elevations manually. After saving I got an error message saying an error occurred during save and C3D recommends running RECOVER. I ran a RECOVER on the dwg and it came back with the message: Program Errors were detected. Recommend that you save your work and restart the program. I then saved the dwg as a new version just in case and restarted my entire computer. I opened the file back up and ran an audit and it did not find any errors. I then added two more feature lines. Made some elevation changes and then saved. Right after I save I get the same error message as the first one recommending a recovery.

Whenever I run the recovery the window shows a bunch of "Bad Layer Redirected" and "Bad Linetype Redirected could not be repaired. It will be erased."

I have not made any changes to my company's standard layers and linetypes from our template dwg. Does anyone have any ideas why I may be getting these errors and how to fix it? I don't want to have to run a recovery every time I make an elevation edit to a feature line. This will make for a long grading process.
