Volumes at Elevation Intervals

Good morning all,

We have job that we need to calculate volumes from specific elevations to specific elevations and at specified intervals and I am not seeing it in Civil 3D, we are using C3D 2018.3.2. We have a tin volume surface that compares the existing topo surface to the proposed site grading surface:

a.) Did an elevation "range interval" analysis at 1' intervals

b.) Inserted a surface legend table for elevations

c.) Added a column to the table that list the "surface range volume"

Not really understanding the data for the surface range volume, example: at elevation (-)15.0, that value is 18.92 and at elevation 6.0 that value is 2252, both values are positive? Is it safe to say that the value for (-)15.0 is 18.92 yards of cut since (-)15.0 is the deepest cut of the surface and that for elevation 6.0 that 2252 is fill since elevation 6.0 is the highest value? Also, if I need to run the analysis from elevation 3.5 to 6.0 or (-)5.0 to elevation 6.0, C3D will not calc anything below the specified "base elevation" within the surface analysis? I have searched the help files and forums and there did not seem to be a clear answer on the subject.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Lang

If you don't find a better solution, request the 45-day full working evaluation of DotSoft's C3DTools and use it's Incremental Volumes tool (dialog example below).

Good morning,

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately purchasing 3rd party software is a monumental task here. It sounds like it does exactly what I am looking for, I just wish Civil 3D had that feature out of the box.
