Hi friends, I have touched on this subject in the past, but did not pursue it due to the fact that I had no need for it. Now, my new client draws everything in Model space including twisting views in model space. I have played with it but do not understand how to twist the view in model space. I typically twist it in paper space using mvsetup.
I am pretty sure it has something to do with VIEW..... and UCS..... but I can not figure it out. He even mentioned on the phone ortho....I know what all of this means but I do not know how to use it.
I asked one of my fellow registered land surveyors that is familiar with civil3d he replied" don't twist anything in model space, lesson over". Ok, well that does not help me, because my other client is a registered land surveyor as well and twists his views in model space. Therefore I need to know how to do this.
A screen cast showing how to do this would be great...any input on twisting views in model space would be great. From what I have heard there is ongoing debates about twisting any view in civil3d for fear of having issues.
I would love to pursue this to the end and have a final resolution if possible. My fellow employees that use civil3d twist their views using mvsetup in the viewport which is what I do. However can this cause issues as well as twisting the view in model space? Or is this just paranoia and fear of using the tools that civil3d has provided? After all would Civil3d have created ways to rotate views if it is going to cause problems?
At any rate, I need to know how to twist views in model space, thank you.
