What I'm trying to do and just can't figure out is create for my cross sections an Underdrain that rests 6" below the bottom of the curb and approximately 6" off the back of the curb. I have taken the trenchwithpipe and modified the numbers in it and if I could only turn off the border and keep the pipe visible it would be exactly what I'm looking for.

Am I missing something simple? or is there an easy way to create this and use it with my assemblies for the new roadway sections?

Thanks

You can't modify a Subassembly from the Tool Palette. You have to work in SAC (Subassembly Composer). You either need to build it from scratch or start with an existing .PKT file.

Look in a folder similar to this: C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\C3D 2024\enu\Subassemblies\Imperial\

I see a PKT file PipeTrenchMultipleLayers.pkt that might make a good start.

Draw a circle made from two arcs and then use the "CreateSubFromPLine" command. This will create a subassembly that is just your pipe. You can then use a LinkWidthandSlope subassembly to place the pipe where you want it relative to the baseline and then turn off the link for that subassembly.

@Joe-Bouza, join me for the next Civil Chat (this months will be on the second Tuesday rather than the first Tuesday as I'll be traveling). This will be the first time we're doing a topic specific session and this one will be an introduction to Subassembly Composer.

For anyone reading this long in the future, this is the Civil Chat for February 2024.
