Trimming TIN

I have created a network of pipe trenches and some of them är coneccting to chambers.

So I need to punch a hole in the walls and even trim off the pipe trench against that wall.

There are som trenches touching the chambers at the sida and I have to trim off those walls against each other.

I ran minimum distance beetween two surfaces and got the 3D polylines.

I tried surface boundary but did not get the result I hoped for! It works for the chambers wall with "Hide" but not with the pipe trench the way boundary works!

Any suggestions how it is possiable to trim two surfacese against each other as int the pic??

Hi,

 

Please see the image below if this is what you want.

The steps are

  1. Add points to the surface where tin line pass the border that you want.
  2. Change the view style to 2d wireframe and delete the lines.

I see your correct result showed in the pic, but I can not get there! Hard time to understand the order of things! 

Could you please make a demo with all the steps?

Hi @Anonymous ,

 

See attached animated gif below.

1. I create a surface style for demo purpose. No display and Triangle only.

2. I use your current minimum distance between two surfaces and create polyline and trace over it as the hide boundary.

3. Create TEMP surface and paste both pipe surfaces.

4. Use the traced boundary as a hide boundary to TEMP surface.

5. Create FINAL surface and paste kam surface then paste temp surface.
