Toolsets - Electrical and other

Does anyone know how to install the Electrical Toolset? I am running Civil 3D and haven't used AutoCAD as "straight AutoCAD" in a while. I thought the Electrical Toolset was included as part of the AutoCAD install, but I can't find it and it seems the system help is directing me to install a Trial version of AutoCAD.

TIA!

The toolsets are separate downloads. You can find them in on your list of products and services for your account.

Apparently I need to have another full subscription to AutoCAD in order to access the Electrical Toolset as my subscription is for Civil 3D - according to AutoCAD support. 😜

That's interesting, have a mix of Autodesk AEC Collection and Civil 3D but assumed the AutoCAD toolsets would be part of C3D.

Agreed. I downloaded the AutoCAD 2024 package to install outside Civil 3D in order to try out Electrical Toolset in trial mode and received an error that I could not install as my licenses were already fully used. It's all a bit odd. 🤔

I think any vertical should allow you to use all of its foundations...

Buy AutoCAD LT

Buy AutoCAD

> AutoCAD LT

Buy Civil 3D

>AutoCAD

>> AutoCAD LT

and Civil 3D should include Vehicle Tracking. Needing Autodesk AEC Collection for that is a con

@tsblue6C4TB It may only be available if you subscribe to the AEC collection otherwise it'll be a separate licence

C3D does not include AutoCAD+Toolsets, sorry. That's a different (and for you a new) subscription model.

It's been like for as long as toolsets have been around.

Ha! no AutoCAD user ever needs LT.

VT used to be free for C3D users I believe, didn't it? That's before the bean-counters at Autodesk changed that.

As was stated, Civil 3D does not come with AutoCAD or its toolsets, you need to have the AEC collection to have access to both, and yes, also as stated, AutoCAD electrical is a separate download from AutoCAD.  If you have Civil 3D installed, you dont need to install AutoCAD, and if you have AEC Collection and install AutoCAD Electrical, you dont need to install AutoCAD either.

Understood. Now, anyway. Too bad I was unable to install a trial version of AutoCAD to check it out.
