Is your text color setting the same color as the command line background?

Is it possible your command window has been reduced to 1 row of text Like this screen shot?

If so, try dragging the separator at top of command line window upward increasing the number of rows displayed.

Dileep,

Did you try  R.K.'s suggestion of verifying the Text color isn't the same as the background color?

Check the "Active Prompt Text" color setting in Dave's screen shot.

Drawing Window Colors dialog can be found here:

Options > Display Tab > Colors > Context: Command Line > Interface Element > Active Prompt Text.

Did you try changing the drawing file tab at the top of the drawing, then back again?

Dileep,

Do commands in the ribbon still work OK? Does Dynamic Input work?

Good call Bill...

I had 2 drawings open, the commandline on the drawing I had selected didn't appear to be working - I found this thread; switched to the other drawing, and hey-presto - there were lines and lines of text... 🙂

Seems the first drawing had remained active, even though the second drawing was displaying.

Hi,

I'm having the same issue; I've tried all of the above, restarted autocad, restarted windows, opened/closed application/file, hid the command line, regen command, dynamic input on/off.... nothing.  What on earth is going on?

I've had this before, read this thread and I think the switching between documents did the job.  But not this time; now I only have one document open.

Here is a shot in the dark.

Using the "F2" key it issues a detached command line.  Perhaps that might help using this command line.

I'm having the same issue. Switching to a different drawing tab and back fixes the issue... temporarily, then the problem returns. Sometimes it will revert back within just a couple command prompts. I haven't been able to identify any patterns present prior to this issue arising. I have noticed that when I switch to a different drawing tab, the text that failed to appear in the "problem" drawing shows in the command line of the new drawing I tab over to.

Just a final follow up on this topic. I used LEVELOFDETAILOFF as recommended in the other forum. It's been about two weeks since I made the toggle, and have not experienced the autosave sending me to a background drawing since. Have not noticed any other performance differences from making the switch either.
