Surveying with Nikon hardware and using Trimble link

Hi,

Copied herewith is information received from Trimble Tech Support.

The error which was fixed was an apparently random assignment of the
backsight azimuth - somewhat critical if you want to rely on the survey.

If you are using this hardware/software combination please read the
following.

Hi Shane
Thanks for the data.
I found that the issue with the use of Nikon file was due to the version of
the Nikon converter dll that was built into the Trimble Link for Civil 3D
2007 system.
In addition I also found another small error while I was checking this out.
I have now built a new NikonConv.dll converter and it is attached to this
Email.
This dll needs to be placed in the \Program Files\Common
Files\Trimble\Remote Device Manager\Converter folder, where there will
already be an earlier copy of this dll that can be replaced.
Updating this converter should resolve the problem.
We are currently wrapping up a new version of the Trimble Link for Civil 3D
2007 that has a more integrated import of the field book file.
This new version will include the updated Nikon converter and will be put up
on the Trimble web site within the next few weeks.
Regards,
Adnan
