Surface analysis: PDF file is very large

Hi all,

I have made a surface analysis of an 1.6 mio m2 area consisting of approximately 3 mio points (reduced from 10 mio points through simplify).

The view is 1x8 A4.

Now I need a PDF for sending to my customer but the PDF is very large and slow. I have changed the vector and raster DPI to 150 which reduces the file size from 176 mb to 128 mb (27% reduction). But the PDF does not look very good. It's too pixelated.

Do you have any suggestions as to what I can do? Printing the drawing is also very difficult.

I have uploaded my PDF to dropbox. Please have a look if need be.

I have looked through the forum without finding a solid solution to the issue.

I hope you can help! Thank you.

Mikkel

I've found that the PDF's AutoCAD creates are always very large and there is little you can do in the settings to fix it.  What I have done, that somehow magically works, is print another PDF from your PDF viewer application.  It seems like a silly step (copy of a copy logic) but it usually seems to cut the size down considerably.

Thank you for your suggestion.

I am trying to "print to PDF" in my PDF-viewer, but it does not work very well.

I think I have to accept the fact that C3D does not handle such types of surface elevation analysis' very well.

I have spent way too much time trying to find a solution and instead I will ask a colleague to help me. She is using a different kind of software that handle such information much easier.

My colleague showed me a similar assignment with a 0,4 mio m2 area which created a 4,5 mb PDF. That's a huge contrast to my 1,6 mio m2 area and 180 mb PDF.
