Support on workflows Ore body/ block/reserves geological modelling in Civil 3D

Hey Friends has anyone tried ore body modelling in civil 3d?

I have a set of drilled boreholes data and want to do Ore block modeling in Civil 3D, I'm looking for a workflow to carry out Mineral Resource Estimation, and Mine planning in civil 3d? I have tried using the geotechnical module to visualize the drilled boreholes/bores but couldn't edit the lithology boundary.

Is there a workflow to accomplish:

1.      Orebody modeling in Civil 3D

2.      How to find out the volume of overburden and reserves within the given block area using borehole/ bores data through civil 3d and make geological profile sections.

3.       How to constrain the estimation of ore and waste volume within boundary limits, which again be altered, how can that be done?

3.       Is it possible to plan variable sizes of benches within the block area which will help us later to calculate the mineable portion of the ore, overburden, or waste generated?

please share your advice.....

Have you looked at the Geotechnical Module?

Yes Mr. Rick I did try Geotechnical Module, but I couldn't edit the lithology boundaries in it! is there a way/workflow to do ore body modeling in civil 3D?

Civil 3D isn't really the tool for this and I'd suggest you'be be better off with dedicated mine planning software e.g. Vulcan (but $£$£$££$£$£$).

You may be able to use the solid modelling tools in vanilla CAD but IMHO you will endure hours of frustration (sluggish performance/crashes etc) attempting this in Civil 3D
