Subasemmbly, custom channel

In the cross section below is a channel with a 2' depth, 2' bottom width and 2/1 side slope. I'm trying to design a channel that has the side slopes stop at the intersection of the EG if EG it is less than the 2' height, or fill (daylight) to EG if EG it is higher than 2'.

in the cross section the Right slope extends higher than the intersection of the Slope and the EG.

I'm very new to corridors and subassemblies. This looks like a place for something custom.

Hi @Anonymous,  If you have a surface created for the EG  then go to the parameters tab of the corridor properties dialog and click the button in the target column and set the EG surface as a target for that subassembly.

The EG ("surface2" in this case) is selected

This is what the "target Mapping dialog box shows:

This does seem like something which would be easily completed with the Subassembly Composer and utilizing IF and THEN statements with conditional links. Seeing how you're new to Corridors, you're likely new to Subassembly Composer and custom subassemblies. I suggest you review this document to help get you on your way to developing a custom subassembly for your needs.

I'd suggest that you ensure your parameters can be edited in the properties box once in Civil 3D and avoid hard coding specific values like 2' wide and 2' depth. That way you can utilize your subassembly for other applications vs. just this scenario. Good Luck!
