Structure Labels in Profile View - Alignment Reference Text

Hey,

I use structure labels in both plan and profile views to label structure data, and I also create an alignment reference text in the label style to pull an alignment's station and offset.  I prefer to use a reference text instead of assigning a "Reference Alignment" in the structure properties.  This way I have the leeway to choose which alignment I want to use to label the structure's station/offset values.

My problem is when I use this label on a structure drawn in profile view.  The alignment offset value always reads 0.  It seems reasonable to me to assume Civil3D should label the alignment's offset when labeling a structure drawn in profile view.

My work around will be to create labels from the structures in plan view, and then drag them over to my profile view... unless this forum points me in a better direction.

DO your design work in a pipe design drawing with out associating alignments. Data reference the pipe design into production drawings, associated the alignment to the components in that drawing and use the associated alignment to get both station and offset through regular pipe network labels.

That isn't an answer.  Civil3D does not pick up the offset variable, and it should.

EDIT:  This isn't a viable work around either, since anytime the pipe network gets synchronized then the reference alignment for the structure will go back to <none>.  The whole point for me is to be able to data reference the pipe network into different files and then being able to choose which alignment to use.  Regardless of finding a work around though or what someone would think is the proper workflow, the alignment reference text should be able to pull the offset.

Hey,

So I played around with the "Reference Alignment" for a structure label, and it appears you can set this independently of the "Reference Alignment" in the structure properties.  So an alignment reference text is not needed for what I am doing.  This pulls the station and offset from the alignment.  The alignment reference text still does not function as one would expect.
