Strange response to osnaps

Hi all,

I am getting a strange response from AutoCAD when I move my cursor near to anything snapable in my drawing.  The stack of rapidly repeated messages gets really long if I keep moving my cursor near Xreferenced objects. (the command I use can be any so long as AutoCAD is looking for a snap point):

Command: pl
PLINE
Specify start point:
The object is an external reference.
The object is an external reference.
The object is an external reference.
The object is an external reference.
The object is an external reference.
The object is an external reference.
The object is an external reference.
The object is an external reference.
The object is an external reference.
The object is an external reference.

Of course, the object I am near is part of an Xreference, but why is this happening?  I usually do not see anything after the "select a point" prompt until after I pick a point.

Are you getting this in plan ACAD or C3D. I've never seen this in C3D hence why I'm aski

Hi,

With some google search I found that turning off Dynamic UCS solve this issue.

You can do it by pressing F6 key on Keyboard.

I am getting this in C3D.  It looks like @Jeew-m may have the solution.  I'll check it out and get back to this thread.

Hi @Jeew-m,

It must be this old age.  I usually start with a Google search and that finds these simple solutions.  I don't remember doing a Google search on this.  You have the solution:

My dynamic ucs is turned off and I also experience this strange unwanted behaviour in Civil3D 2020. Never seen it in 2018 and dynamic ucs is always turned off over here.

I found it: ucsdetect 0 solves this.

F6 solved it.
My work flow...
C3D working normally. Suddenly not. Search the forums.
Rinse and repeat.
