If I understand you correctly, you want to force an update to the profile without having to actually re-import the profile manually. If you are loading a profile called "CompanyProfile" from a network location using a profile switch, it will be pretty easily. Go to Civil 3D and rename your profile to anything besides "CompanyProfile". I'd suggest adding the date to the original name. Make your edits to this newly renamed profile from within Civil 3D. Then Export your profile and use the original name "CompanyProfile" as the name of the profile you export. When the software is launched, it checks the data inside the ARG file to see if it has a profile called that. Remember that now your profile has the added date within the file. Open the arg file with a text editor to confirm that the "CompanyProfile.arg" has the name "CompanyProfile-date" inside the arg file if you like. When C3D is launched, it looks for the name found within the arg file. It still has one called "CompanyProfile", but it won't have the one called "CompanyProfile-date" and it treats it as if it is a completely new profile and needs to be imported. The next time the user launches CAD, as long as the same name is inside the arg file, it will recognize the profile name and use that until you have another update and need to change the date again.
Hope that helps!
