I have a storm network that is discharging into a wet pond with submerged outlets. Modeling as hydrodynamic due to the tailwater on the outfall pipes at the pond. Model seems to run fine until peak where HGL starts oscillating and jumping around and shows flooding/surcharge where I do not expect it to.
I have lengthened time step and shortened time reporting and routing to 1 sec, but can't get the instability out of the model. Has anyone experienced this or know what is contributing to the HGL issues.
I have modeled in storm sewers as well and set HGL to top of pond conservatively and did not show flooding in that model.
