Spot Elevations Unselectable

In one drawing that i'm using currently, when I create a Surface:Spot Elevation it is unselectable. I can select it if I Select:All.....but that doesn't actually allow me to move it. I can get to the properties this way....but it is unwieldy. I try and click it but it is as if it is not really there.

All other drawings are working correctly....just this one for some reason. I've tried purging registered apps and auditing (found no errors).

Any ideas what could be causing this? I have a lot of work in this drawing and I don't really want to have to redo things. Spot elevations are required!

Sounds odd, This suggestion from @Jeff_M may be worth a try as it sounds very simlar.

Thanks for the suggestion....I tried it but Freezing and Thawing layers doesn't improve the situation. I can confirm that freezing the layer causes the spot elevations to disappear....but once turned back on I cannot select them.

No layers are locked. I've tried different styles.

Some additional info: If I set surface labels to be on a separate layer, then I can get it so that there is only this one object on a layer. Then I can use QSELECT to select just this one object. Then I can right click and use the General Tools: MOVE command to actually move it.....but I still cannot actually click on it.

I just discovered a very odd workaround......they work fine through a viewport! If I go to a sheet I can use them normally....only model space is broken.
