Hi,
When I snap a line to a Civil 3D point, I don't want the line to take the elevation of the point.
I keep having to go into the properties of the line to change the Z value to "0."
I've used the OSNAPZ command but seems like OSNAPZ only prevents polylines (as well as a few other entities) from inheriting elevations.
I was wondering if there is a way to prevent the line from inheriting the elevation of a C3D point (or anything with an elevation).

Hmm okay.
I'm using C3D 2013, I set OSNAPZ to 1, but I still get elevations when I snap my line to a point
How do you change the point style to flatten the diplay of the points to 0?
I gotta look up more on that transparent point filters. Does the transparent point filter also include holding ctrl +right clicking and choosing the point filter?

Wow I didn't see that option!
Thanks again!
another option is to use the .xy filter and when it asks you for the z value you hit 0

Hi,
I used to use that .xy filter option before also, but I think having to do that extra step takes up time.
Better to just snap to the points and have the line with an elevation of 0.
I think your thinking about the same setting in the survey figure style. Changing the elevation of the point style has no effect on the figures.
I usually insert the points at 0 or use the OSNAPZ option (also have a button for that). But if you draw a polyline instead of a line and start the first vertex using the .XY filter. The 2d polyline will stay at 0 without any additional input.
