Select your Sheet and edit the Group Plot style.  Turn on the display of the Print area, Sheet border and both the Horizontal and Vertical Major grid lines.

Your drawing is likely going to be messy looking, like this one but it's important to see how the software places the section views.  If you look closely you will notice that every section view inserts at the intersection of two grid lines and that there is one grid line between each adjacent section view.  Note - if the section view includes any band then that is included in the extents of the section view when the software determines where to place them to maintain the rule of one line between adjacent sections.

EDIT - if your group plot style has values in Array tab for "Space between adjacent section views" then that will also have an impact on the positioning.  For this exercise make sure those are set to zero.

Right now my settings allow for 3 columns and four rows on a sheet, assuming that all sections are 60m wide and 20m tall with a band on the bottom that's 10mm high and has a 10mm wide text box on the left side.  If I wanted to change it to 2 columns then I need to edit the Group Plot style again and change the Vertical Major spacing.

My first guess didn't work at all.  The width of the band on each section pushes the sections farther to the right than I wanted, and there was not enough space for the third column.  The smarter way to do this is to measure the available width of the print area, then determine the minimum number of grid lines I need and adjust accordingly.

In this case the print area measures 203.25m which converts to 813mm on the printed sheet.  For two columns I need to divide that width into four intervals, which concidentally means that my vertical spacing is 203.25mm

If I want to have fewer rows on the page then I need to adjust the Horizontal grid in a similar way.  Usually I have to experiment with this setting to find a spacing that provides a reasonable space at the bottom and the top of the page, and also gets me the number of rows I am aiming for.

If you are producing a lot of section views, at a consistent scale and sheet size, with the same section width and height then you can set up your template with a section view style, band style and group plot style that produces what you need every time.

Hi @sboon,

Thank you for your reply and explanation. I changed horizontal and vertical major grids spacings now it show 4 sections but scale is too small. How to maximize those 4 sections to fit auto scale so that there is no extra spacing at left, right, top and bottom of internal rectangle.

Yes I need many section views so what settings should I do as I showed dims in attached image.

Thank you.

You need to adjust your sheet to fit the size of the page you intend to print and the scale you want to use.  Start by adjusting the drawing scale.  The sheet size should update.

Drawing Scale also scales band sizes which we don't want.
