Rotate/Move Orthomosaic Issue

Sometimes when I drag/rotate an orthomosaic layer it will show me a "preview" of the placement. This is nice and easy to translate the image and I can line stuff up. Other times it does not and it just wants me to select two points, but does not show me a "preview" of how it will be placed.  What setting needs to be on in order to see the "previewed move/rotate".

Hi Dennis,
I guess the reason you're not getting much traction here is that word "Sometimes". Why do you need to "drag/rotate" your ortho? What commands are you using? Are you seeing this with any particular ortho or drawing?

The reason I used the word sometimes is because for no rhyme or reason, it doesnt work and other times it does. I didnt turn anything on or off, but it was working yesterday.

I am trying to forensically translate an orthomosaic we received that was not controlled to lidar that was shot with control.  I have been able to do this in the past by translating the raster with a "ghosted" visual aid to see that I am lining up with the features I want lined up.  Today, it is not working this way and wants me to enter an angle of rotation- dragging it into place is just really easy.

Not any particular ortho or drawing.  Im using the "ro" command, and alternatively right clicking and selecting rotate from the menu of basic modify tools.

Dennis,
So your images are not georeferenced? Have you tried georeferencing with command IRSHEET in the Raster Tools?

You want the MOVE command.....

I have tried move and rotate... the video I attached shows a point cloud. The ghosted preview image used to work for both orthomosaics and point clouds.

This time it isnt. Just working with what we got on this case. We have just established an origin in the lidar scan we received and that is what we are working off of.
