river and flood analysis

I downloaded the river and flood analysis add on for Civil 3d and it did not show up in the tool bar. Where do I find it to add it to my tool bar?

Toolbar? Or do you mean ribbon?

It won't show up in your toolbars. If you've turned your ribbon off, you'll need to turn it back on to see the tools. At the command line, simply type RIBBON.

If you were referring to your ribbon, change your workspace to something else (such as "Drafting & Annotation") and then back to "Civil 3D". If that doesn't work, let us know.

If you installed it and the River ribbon is missing from your screen (check if it was all the way to teh righ by expanding) then it may mean that the ribbon was not sucessfully loaded. Please try following procedure and let me know if it loads tools and if the tools remain loaded after you restart the application.

1. In command line type CUILOAD to get into Load/Unload dialog 
2. If you don't see RIVER there it means it's not loaded
3. Click on Browse button and browse to C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Autodesk RFA 2015 or version you have
4. Select River.cuix and click Open
5. Back to Load/Unload Customization click on Load button and OK
6. This should load the tools

Also, run WSSETTINGS command and then click “Automatically save workspace changes”. This will “remember” your changes.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of doing this. There's not really anything wrong with it, I just prefer the other option. If I make a change to my workspace and I don't like it, all I have to do is change my workspace, change back to the original, and I'm back the way it was. If I make a change and I like it, I'll change the WSSETTINGS to automatically change, switch workspaces (workspace is now saved), switch back, and then change WSSETTINGS back to not automatically save.

Most people I've talked with, however, prefer the way Almas suggests.

I lost my RFA Ribbon Tab and can't get it back. I tried re-installing RFA, but it says it's already installed. Following your steps, you lose me at 4. I can't find River.cuix.

I usually just type RMSABOUT or RMSHELP and the arx should load the CUIx.  Be careful - I keep forgetting - one will crash the application - the other works.  I typically guess wrong on the first try.

Hello, 

I downloaded river flood plugin for Hamed and i dont see it in the ribbon. I tried changing Drafting and annotation to civil 3d and back to Drafting and annotation no success. We also tried Planning and analysis and still cannot find it. I show its installed when i try to reinstall it. Ive gone into my C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Autodesk RFA 2016 and do not see river.cuix; However, we do see riverfloodplain.arx. Please help.
