Ribbon shows panel that are not in the CUI

I set up my Civil3D Home ribbon in the CUI, but the actual home ribbon has extra panels that are not listed in the CUI.

Specifically, Explore, Optimize, Draw, and Modify.

I know I can uncheck these with the "show panels" left click, but I have to redo that when I update/reinstall acad.

I'd like to know why these show up when the CUI doesn't show them.

They could be panels that are placed by addons, or even when the acad.cuix file is subloaded, it pulls them from it, instead of offering two Home tabs.  My recommendation would be to build your own cuix and ribbon tab and place the objects you want on it, this way, you dont have to rebuild it everytime there is an update.  Although over the course of the years,  Ive just become accustomed to using the ootb tools with my separate custom set of toolbars.  The less I change, the less interruption there is when switching versions or switching machines.
