Reversing Chainage

Hi everyone,

I’ve created alignments, profiles, and corridors for around 300 roads in Civil 3D. Now, the client has requested to reverse the chainage for approximately 100 of these alignments.

I tried using the "Reverse Alignment Direction" tool under the Modify tab, but it unfortunately distorts the vertical geometry of the associated profiles — which is a major issue since the profiles are already designed.

Has anyone found a reliable method to reverse the chainage of an alignment without affecting the profile geometry?

I couldn't come up with an efficient way to do this either.

I haven't had to do it with that many alignments, usually just one or two.

When I've had to do this though, I would use the Profile Entities palette no the Panorama to copy the data out to excel, then invert the stations and elevation data and paste it back into the Panorama.

This can be time consuming, since you have to individually edit each station/elevation cell. However, it is a little faster than trying to graphically edit the profile - which I've done by tracing it with a polyline, mirroring it in the profile view and then adjusting the original to match.

Hi @Pallavi_GMD

I have done it up to profile's reversed PIs with reversed station/elevation with Dynamo for 3D.

I was not able to do it with the vertical curve properties, so i added manual only the curves on the automated created layout profiles.

Thank you and regards
