I am designing a 3800 foot long channel in a residential addition with seven reaches, each progessively wider to accomodate accumulating flows as it works downstream.

The section spacing is 100 feet. This will be the basis for a LOMR.

When I run the analysis the flood map has seven distinct areas. I cannot get a continuous profile.

How do you make the reaches connect end to end?

hard to tell without seeing plan layout of the reaches, but if your main reaches and tributary reaches are connected by junctions, RAS will compute similar water surface profiles across the junction (on main line and trib line).

Thank you for your response. I just downloaded the RAs extension and users guide a couple of weeks ago.

I am on 2016 and the manual states to place crossections close to each other (0.2') when you have consecutive reaches without a junction.

That will make the flood look continuous.

Doing that now but lost my reach data overnight.

Trying to figure that out.

Sounds like you need just one reach to model that channel.
