Quantitiy takeoff: compute materials for project designed on state plane grid?

Hello,

I am wondering if anyone has a workflow or advice for computing earthwork quantities on a project designed on the grid. It doesn't look like C3D is doing this on it's own, even when clicking the options in the transformation tab.

Thanks

Hi @Coffee_Aided_Design, I hope you are doing well. I could not understand what you are asking for. I am not familiar with what a "project designed on the grid" could be. Could you please provide more information about the issue?

Yes, we often get survey that is done in state plane coordinates. Designing using these coordinates directly is great for matching up long projects but is more complex for measuring actual ground lengths, as there is a scale factor asociated with the project location.

I was hoping someone had a better method than I did, which was to do some post-processing in Excel.
