Projecting Station Value of WB Alignment To Section View of EB Alignment

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi,

I have a corridor with two alignments (eastbound and westbound). The section views are sampled from the eastbound alignment. I want to project the westbound alignment's station value on to my sections, but can't figure out how to do it. In versions of Autocad prior to 2018, I accomplished this by creating an auto feature line from my westbound alingment and projecting it onto my eastbound sections views. When doing this, there was an option to add a reference alignment to that projection, upon which I could select the westbound alignment.

In 2018, though, a new object called a Crossing is used instead of the Projection object that was previously used. Now, when I try to project the feature line, there is no option to link it to the westbound alignment.

Does anyone know a solution for this? I've attached a sample cad file and screenshot to help show what I'm trying to do. Thanks

You can add a Reference Text component to your existing label style.

Ah ha! I see it now. Edit the Label Style, go to the Layout tab, select the A+ drop-down and select Reference Text, upon which a dialogue will pop-up asking for which type of reference object. In my case, I  chose Alignment. Next, adjust the text contents to include the Station Value. When you go back to the section, your projection should show three question marks because it doesn't know which alignment you want to reference. Click the label/question marks, and in the properties change the alignment to the one you want to reference.
