Profile View Elevations 1-foot Higher than Alignment Elevations - Help Please!

Hi All. I have a profile view created that shows an alignment along a reef. When I create the Profile View, the elevations at the PVI's are 1-foot higher than they should be (so 1-foot higher than the alignment). Is there a tolerance or something within the Profile View that would create this change? Because it is exactly 1-foot, I am thinking that has to be the issue. I have re-checked the surface and alignment in plan view.

Alignments do not have elevations.

surface profiles and layout profiles are the elevation definition. what exactly is going on? screen grab with some notation would help
