Profile View Data Grayed out - I can't split my profile view

Hi all,

I'm trying to split my profiles view automatically with height of 80m, but the Profil View Data is always grayed out.

The existing groud profile had already been created, plus the design profile and I also projected elements (cogo point, block, feature line) in the profile. I'm sorry I can't share the DWG, but here are some screen captures.

 Here's the original profile.

Here's the split profile dialog box.

Here are the parameters I use (all the style for split profile are already existing).

Here's the result - the profile view disappears! And no split has been populated.

Has anyone any ideas?

Thanks you so much,

Hi Pierrot, from your screenshots it looks as if you are using the Automatic method for specifying your stations and elevations for where the split occurs.  Have you tried setting that to Manual and then selecting the stations and elevations instead?

Typically, you would see separate lines for each of the split profile properties:

Understood.  That's interesting (frustrating) that it's not working as intended.  Just curious on what the extent of the issue is, does this happen with other profile views/drawings/users?  Or is it just relegated to this particular drawing/profile?

Good idea @v-silvestre, I just tried with another drawing with another profiles, but yes the exact same thing is happening.

Are you able to share the drawing?  It might be helpful to mess around with the data directly and see if there is some setting off somewhere.

if I try to edit the existing profile view, it wont show any information, however, if you create a new profile view and tell it to split and specify the height when you are creating the view, the dialog shows information.  I cant say why the existing view wont display info, I dont have time to test further at this point.
