Problem creating a surface profile

Hello!

I am a roads and railway student and I am trying to learn Civil 3D. I am currently working on a semester project for Railways course.  I've watched a few tutorials online and managed to get acquainted a bit with this software but I've stumbled across a problem. I have made an alignment and as I was trying to CREATE A SURFACE PROFILE , right after clicking DRAW IN PROFILE VIEW to software returns FAILED OPENING CLASS NODE error and dose nothing... I can't seem to find a solution to this problem on forums or on youtube. 

Does someone have a solution?

Dear Friend,

It seems like a software issue rather than a fault of yours. I would recommend that you would consult some technical staff if you have any or otherwise reinstall the software. 

If you don't have any pre-configured settings you can try resetting the software to the defaults before reinstall.
