Pressure pipes parts lists in C3D 2017

When setting the parts list path for pressure pipes in Civil 3D 2017, the path is supposed to be pointing to a common network drive.  Our company has multiple office locations and cad users need to be pathed to the same pressure pipe parts list.  The path doesn’t always stay and defaults back to the pressure pipes parts lists on the C drive.  Our company uses a cloud base storage system, Panzura.  What do I need to do to make the path remain?

Hi jonnymaun,

The path to your pressure pipe network gets stored in the AutoCAD profile. When AutoCAD exits, the information from the profile gets saved in the computer's registry.

Why am I bringing the whole registry thing up? I'm thinking that there are two possibilities.

  1. The people who are not seeing the correct path may have a specific profile being loaded. This might be something off the network that they can't edit. Check with your CAD manager or IT guy to see if there is any script or shortcut settings that is forcing the profile.
  2. If users can edit their profiles, the trouble may be how AutoCAD is exiting. If AutoCAD crashes, any changes made to the Pressure pipe path don't get saved. To make sure this is not the case, have people set the pressure network catalog path and then restart AutoCAD right away.

Let me know if either of these suggestions work! Thanks!

I can have some coworkers check their profiles.  I've seen it where, in the same session of cad, the path is set to right location and the very next command is to check the pathing and it has already defaulted back to the C drive.  Thank you

Thank you.  I work remotely from home with somewhat of an unreliable VPN.  I have the catalog on my computer and one other guy in the main office has opened the master drawing, the one with the pp network.  So does that mean i need to share the catalog from my computer to the other person using the drawing?

Nevermind, that was meant for a different post.
