Point label colors by layer

How can I create a point style so that when I change the layer of the point, the colors of all three text change to the color of the layer the points were placed on? I know that I can edit the text of the point and, one at a time, change color by layer, but that is only for one pooint. I want a point style that will display the colors of the text the same as the layer it was placed on. In my point style, I changed the all the colors to by layer but that didn't work.

Are you referring to Point Label Styles and you wish to show the Point Number, Point Description & Point Elevation

all as different colors?

If yes then create separate component's within the Point Label Style and assign them each their own color within the label style.

As far as I know Civil 3d doesn't have a means of placing the various point components on individual layers at this time.

As an example, we have multiple point label styles that show Pt #, El, Desc and others which only show one of these

components per style.

In the PointLabelStyle properties, set the Layer on the General tab to 0. Then for each of the Text Components make sure they are set to ByLayer.

A,

An easy way to change properties of one or several points is in the Edit Points Panorama:

Your suggestion was good as I didn't have the General tab set to 0. It still didn't work until I set the two layers in the basic point to 0. Then it started to work like I wanted. Thanks for your input.
