Point groups

I have 4 point groups and a non display layer with all points included..when i change the style and symbolization for one point group, the style replicates in all other groups so that my trees, buildings and manholes have same style..what can i do to give each point group a unique style

Group hierarchy matters, i.e if the point group at the top contains all points and a style override, this override will display regardless of the group below it.  I personally think it is better to control your point appearance with the description keys rather than the point group overrides.

Welcome to the Autodesk Forums.
In addition to the excellent advice from @m_kingdon, if you are not using Description Keys, disable them before importing points. And in the Point Groups you might need to activate Overrides.
