Plan/profile sheets.

Hi,
This topic has been going around in the office for a while, but no sure answer yet. Since civil 3D has taken out the sheet manager (or 2007, can't remember) they had thought (the office) about creating views to use them on paper space. 1 viewport for plan, 1 for profile, and everything was ok until getting into the labels for the plan/profile sheets. Since FGR and FGL are labeled based on FGC no viewports can be used to show the dinamic labels for the street. Since this is not the way to do it anymore, how can we create a plan/profile sheet to print like sheet manager used to create, with labels that will get updated automatically (using viewports, of course) and not having to go in paper space and update labels manually?
This might sound difficult, but I am sure there is a why to set up a plan/profile sheet with labels.
Thanks.

Huh? Can you explain a little further?

In Land Desktop 2002, to have layers showing FRG and FGL, you first had to import and label using FGC because if not you won't get any labels for the right or left side (and to keep it, we changed layers). Since only FGC will create labels, by your grid, next to the EG, is there any way I can have FGR and FGL labeled on my grid?

Let's try the procedure:
Set aligment
Set profile
Create FGC tangents
Define FGC
Copy FGC into FGR1 (for right side profile)
Import FGC with PVI, VC, this will create labels also on your grid for every 50 feet of profile
Create layer for FGR1 and FGR1T
Change FGC to FGR1 and FGCT to FGR1T
Do the same for the left side
In this step, the FGC based on FGR1 are going to be overwrite it by the info from the left side.
Thank.

You will need to add a second band to your profiles, this one will have
Profile1 and Profile2 referring to the Left and Right Profiles instead of EG
and the Centerline.

You can actually use a negative offset on the second band to stack it on top
of the first, and use x-y offsets in the labeling to have it appear as a
complete stack of information at each major station if that's your desire.
We did this very thing for a client two weeks ago.

Look into using a second band! HTH

It sounds pretty much what we are trying to do, can you describe the procedure for me please? Maybe more specific. I know the edit vertical aligment has different variables, some of them I am not very familiar with.
Thanks in advance.

i'll see if i cant get it up on my blog. i did that for someone who wanted
separate layers and textstyles for FG and EG. Maybe today.

It is pretty easy but the whole neg offset of the band messes with your
brain for a little while
