Plan and Profile to Viewport - Scales

Can somebody please help me understand why when I create a plan and profile in model space Horizontal: 1"-5' and Vertical: 1"-1' and put it in a 1"=10' viewport why my plan and profile scale becomes Horizontal: 1"-10' and Vertical 1"-2'.

I can pull out a scale to determine the viewport scale but I can not decipher the logic behind it.

At that in model space my plan and profile blocks are showing up as 5 ft rather than 1 ft for the 1"-1' scale and I just would like a good explanation or a link that explains this for me.

Thank you in advanced!

Can you upload a sample drawing here?

Vertical exaggeration is 1/5

meaning 5' horizontal and 1' vertical

if you put it in a 1:10 viewport

10' horizontal is going to be 2' vertical  because 10/5 is 2 as 5/5 is 1.   It doesnt use the vertical scale it uses the exaggeration factor.

But as stated, seeing an image of what you are dealing with or sharing a drawing could allow for a more concise answer.

Profile view horizontal scale will match the viewport scale. If you want a 1:5 scale profile the viewport has to be 1:5. If the viewport is 1:10, the profile will be 1:10. The vertical scale will be a multiple of the horizontal scale..i.e 1x, 2x, , 4x, etc. depending on the style settings.
