Pipe Rims Not Updating

I have profiles with pipes and I lowered the road by about 3 feet. The RIM
elevations should automatically adjust based on the surface updating but
they are not. When I go into Structure properties, it shows the correct
surface elevation but the "Insertion Rim Elevation" is still showing the old
elevation. The weird thing is that if I click on the "Connected Parts" tab
and click back the Rim Elevation is then updated. Is this just a Civil 3d
bug or does it work fine for others?

Here are some screenshots to better illustrate the issue. The first one
shows the updated surface elevation but the Rim elevation is still the old
number and then the second image shows it updated after I click the
Connected Parts tab and came back to the Part Properties.

It isnt a bug per say. Things are apparently behaving as designed. In
order to update the rims you are supposed to use apply rules. Which will
mess with your inverts as well. Matt Kolberg from in here put together a
vba routine to just update rims. See here.

That program will do the trick but I would think that should just happen
automatically. I don't want to reapply the rules because we have made
changes to the design to make it work.

You are preeching to the choir on that one. I agree that if the surface
changes the rims should just update, however the reality is they havent
since pipes were introduced, in 2006 you needed to run resize to model. I
also agree that having to apply rules again is the wrong solution because
the rules dont get me nearly close enough to a working design. Those were
the out of the box answers, Matt went ahead and created something that
works for the situation we are dealing with and just changes the structure
rims. You could head over to the wishes group and make a suggestion there to
add your voice to the mix.
