Pipe Networks - Manually setting pipe connection locations to structures

I recently upgraded from Civil 3D 2018 to Civil 3D 2020. My part library contains many custom structures created in Part Builder with which I would previously set connecting pipe locations to the inside wall of the structure (manually). While the new structures with predefined connection points seem great, for structures that do not have these I can no longer set the pipe connection locations as they now default to the structure insertion point. I tried using Inventor to add connection points to my current parts but from what I could tell this only works for parts that were created in Infrastructure Parts Editor
For now I am continuing to use 2018 when working with pipe networks but am looking for a better long term solution. Ideally, Autodesk would bring back an option to manually set the pipe connection locations. However, if this is how it will be going forward (perhaps starting to phase out Part Builder?) then I don't see other options than to eventually recreate my custom structures using Infrastructure Parts Editor.
