Pipe Network Profile to Outer Edge of Manhole

I am trying to show the pipes attaching to the outer edge of the manhole. I have one that does it correctly and then another pipe that continues to the centerline of the manhole. It says that the pipe is connected to the manhole.

Is your structure also set to Display as Boundary? (Looks like it is, but didn't want to assume)

It’s displayed as a block. Is that the issue?

So I tried both displaying the structure as a block and as a boundary with the enable part masking and am still running into the same issue. 

Update: So I think the issue is that the start structure is at 3 and there is no said end structure listed. Trying to connect the parts, but I thought I already did that.

I would try swapping the pipe out for a new one and see if that fixes the issue.

Pipe P2 is not connected to the manhole. Use the grip to pull it away then reconnect. Double-check your pipe inverts & you're good to go.

Hmm I found that if I move the pipe to the edge of the manhole and then back to the center, it just automatically joins the structure and so now my part masking is working properly because the pipe geometry shows an end and start structure connection.

Is it good practice to lay out pipe network by selecting objects because the issue I run into was that I can only select one object at a time

I don't typically do it that way, but that doesn't mean it's a bad practice. Usually I determine structure locations as necessary and use Pipe Network Creation Tools to lay it out.

I don't lay out by selecting objects such as a polyline. I do layout by selecting the pipes and structures I want, then start placing with upslope toggled so that my structures and pipes start at 1 at low end. Then I create an alignment/profile by selecting start structure and end structure. If the pipes are connected to the structures, the whole line will highlight. Also, by doing it this way, it only picks those pipes and structures (automatically) to throw in profile. I use the Pipe Network Tools to quickly change reference alignment.

Note, my pipe rules are set to structure center initially so that alignment vertices are created at center (insertion) of structure. Then I change end location to structure inner wall and apply rules so that I get a true pipe length.
