Pipe Network Pipe Has Incorrect Length

I am creating a pipe network in Civil 3D but for some reason, but for some reason the length of the pipes in their properties are coming up with incorrect lengths. Pipes that are 30 feet long are showing up as 3 feet long, which is throwing my pipe slopes way off. Visually the pipes are going from structure to structure. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hi, showing some pics might help, have you checked the units?

  1. Check the inverts. Are you listing the 3d length or 2d length?
  2. Are these pipe(s) connected to structures? If so, how large are the structures?
  3. Are you measuring the pipe from inside wall to inside wall or center of structure to center of structure?

I did check the inverts a couple times and everything looked good. The lengths that I listed were the 2D lengths.

Yes, the pipes are connected to the structures. The structures are at 48 in currently.

I am measuring center to center but the pipe is displayed to the inside of the structures.

I found the solution, the drawing's unit scales were off somewhere. I did the LUNITS and DIMUNITS and DWGUNITS commands and that seemed to clear up the issue. Thank you all for your help!

As a side note, I don't recommend ever putting any objects on the Defpoints layer. It can corrupt a C3D drawing very quickly.

That is good to know. Thank you for that side note!
