Pipe Crossings - Profile View Check Boxes

I have an Idea -

Add a check box that shows the crossings within the stations of the profile view. Make sure that the profile displays only the crossings that intersect the alignment and not just perpendicular to the alignment

"Crossings with Profile within Stations"

For example, I'll have an alignment that crosses 32 pipe but I only want the ones checked that actually cross within the portion of the alignment that is the profile view.

What do you think?

I would post this to the Civil 3d ideas page.  https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/civil-3d-ideas/idb-p/31

There it can gather support until it is hopefully adopted by Autodesk.  I would vote for it.

It doesn't matter. If they are all selected only the ones in the station  limit of the view are shown.

the check box is there to filer the crossing objects only.

That is most definitely not how that button works. The "show only crossing pipes" looks for intersections with the alignment.

I'm doing a project right now with like a four miles of water main, storm, sanitary in a circle.

I should mention that I am talking about production drawings, not a source drawing with an overall profile. I can only display roughly 350 feet of alignment on a sheet (standard sheets). Below I am using an architectural drawings but same situation.

show only crossing pipes is selected below.

Im Confused. You original post said "only those that cross the alignment" that's what that button does

this is way I do. assuming the crossing pipe are all secondary to the profile, I set their style to display in plan and profile as crossing, then I don't have to override and they automatically display as crossings by selectin all. for the odd occasion a secondary want to display longitudinally, I change its style

I have noticed that this is intermittent.  Sometimes it only shows crossing pipes within the limits of the profile view, sometimes it shows others.   I have also noticed that it will sometimes show pipes that are actually parallel with the alignment (or close to it) as crossing pipes.   I would vote for this though as an idea.

It would be a good idea, particularly to get rid of the parallel. I usually make the full design profile with all the crossings plotted. As instructed by mentor 30 years ago. 1. Plot crossings 2. Design around

now when you make multiple views or PP all the crossings are there
