Optimize audit command

Hi,

When a model becomes slow or seems to be having an issue, I use the Audit command to see if any errors have occurred and for it to fix it.

However, perhaps this is due to my company's settings of the template file, but the Audit command always seems to get stuck at "Audit Pass 1   114000    objects audited". It shouldn't take fifteen minutes to get a reply that either "no errors found" or "2 errors found".

Like, is it possible to speed up the process? The model I'm in right now only has a bunch of multileaders, text and xref of 2D objects and still the process takes forever.

Hi @Ingrid91,

Two things come to mind on this. First, you could run a Recover command on opening. In the command line of a blank drawing, type recover then choose the drawing you want. This pretty much opens via an Audit routine and may speed things up.

Also, you can do a deep purge (-purge), this will allow selected items, but also give you the option to remove Regapps which often cause speed issues.

Try

_PU R ALL N

again until none on command line. I suspect you have thousands.

then audit.

if there xrefs involved you may want to go through them first and the regg adds from xrefs do pollute the host
