Online Maps

I am unable to visualize Online Maps.

I am logged into Autodesk account, I have set units and Coord System, I have toggled Map Aerial/Map Off, I have tried zoom in/out, zoom extents, regen, I have accepted Yes to use of Online Maps.

Is there anything else I can try?

Hi @brooke_stephens,
Welcome to the Autodesk Forums.
Can you post your drawing?

Bing Live Maps immediately came up when I opened your drawing. So if it doesn't on your end, I guess it's a network permissions thing. Are you on your home computer?

I am working from home, using a work computer with a network license.

Hi @brooke_stephens

AutoCAD can be finicky.

Shut down and reboot.

Firewall, Anti-Virus, and browser settings are all controlled by an administrator for my work laptop - I have contacted IT to see if they could do anything on their end for the above noted and for the Civil3D permissions and license.

.... I'm still checking other avenues though.

I've been trying to figure this out over a week, over that time I've shutdown/restarted the program, the computer, and went through computer updates, as well dumped and redownloaded this above dwg, starting new dwgs, and going through other dwgs of current projects.

I'd been hoping it would be a simple toggle or reboot solution.

You can go through the steps HERE. I don't know if that will solve the problem.

Try to re-establish your choice to use Online Map Data.

Options=>System tab=>General Options=>Hidden Message Settings=>check box labeled Geographic Location

Use Online Map Data? Choose yes.

Thank you for the detailed instructions.  When I learned about that last night I was hoping that would be my fix, I did need to check those boxes, but the imagery still won't visualize, nor does Bing show in the lower right of the model screen.

Thank you all for the help!  The problem was found in the VPN I was using.

Hello @mford515151

I've seen that happen too often. Close the drawing and reopen it. Even though it says you don't have permission you do. The program doesn't have the option of describing the issue in another way so it defaults to you don't have permission.

The problem was discovered - it was the VPN server I was using for work.
