No Generic Links for Targeting Feature Line/Alignment/Profile

I have a need to target a generic link subassembly  to an object that will maintain a constant 6' offset from the ROW Line and at a constant 262' elevation. I tried targeting many generic link subassembly types (SlopeOffsetAndElevation, etc, etc) to the appropriately created  Feature Line but at each instance no link subassembly was listed in the Target Mapping Dialog Box to override the width/offset and slope/Elevation defaults. I tried with alignment and Profile objects but still no success. Am I missing anything?

If the offset and elevation is constant there is no need to target 🎯Simply set the parameters in the sub.

FYI OffsetElrvation sub targets both

The problem is that the Right of Way (ROW) varies from the Alignment (Baseline) while the Target Line is required to be at 6' constant offset from the ROW. Setting offset on the Link Subassembly will give a constant offset line which will not match the anticipated Target Line. That is why I was going through Feature Line and Alignment/Profile. Any further help will be appreciated.

I think I see now what you have.

 

one way would be to use an offset sub attached to the ROW alignment and profile with a generic link OffsetElevation  (6 and 262 attached to it).

 

another could use generic OffsetSurface from edge of assembly to ROW with the OE at 6 feet 262 . in this case the OffesetSurface link would be set to omit (yes)

 

I just used this successfully on my project to hold sidewalk at existing and cut back at 1.5%. there was an additional MP and L2MP to create the mow strip that has a variable cross slope
